Homeless Prevention and Services

Salt Lake County is vigilant in its efforts to prevent homelessness - both temporary and chronic. It funds several organizations that aid in these efforts, as well as some of the local homeless shelters.

AmeriCorps logoThe AmeriCorps program also places its members with agencies which work with the homeless. 

Clients served by some Salt Lake County agencies also refer people for housing through the HARP program.

The Continuum of Care also works on homelessness issues.

Overall plans to address homelessness are detailed in Salt Lake County's 10-Year Plan to End Chronic Homelessness. In 2010, the goals and strategies were updated to adapt to the current environment.
