Mayor Peter Corroon has established the following social service priorities for
this program in 2012-2013:
Increasing quality, affordable after-school programs
that provide elementary and junior-high youth with quality, academic opportunities emphasizing community involvement and leadership development.
Overcoming language and cultural barriers
that families face in the community, workplace and at home.
Preventing homelessness among high-risk populations
to provide services to those most in jeopardy of losing stable housing.
